 Brian Thomas Littrell is an American singer-songwriter, best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys. He is also a contemporary Christian recording artist and released a solo album, Welcome Home in 2006.  

Littrell decided to make a Christian album and become a contemporary Christian singer. In the summer of 2005 Brian's solo single "In Christ Alone" went to #1 on the Christian Charts on July 4 and Littrell was the winner of the 2006 GMA Music Award for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year, "In Christ Alone," which won both the 1993 award in this category and the 1994 Song of the Year at the GMA Music Awards.

Ben Saunders is a Dutch singer who won the first-ever title of the Dutch singing competition series The Voice of Holland. Saunders is also a tattoo artist and a Mixed martial arts fighter. He is popularly known as "Tattoo Ben". 

In 2000, Dean (his brother) and Ben Saunders both took part in Alles voor de band: Follow that dream. They were part of the band Follow That Dream (F.T.D.) (that included besides the two brothers Vanessa Eman, Rosa Vuik, Linda van Toornburg and Peter van der Meer)

Their debut single the self-titled "Follow That Dream" was released in November 2000 reaching #25 in the Dutch Top 40. 6 months later, the band split after the great popularity of the rival Starmaker show.


The Saunders brothers took part in the 2003 Dutch Nationaal Songfestival, a Dutch national music pre-selection contest for qualification to Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Riga, Latvia. They performed the song "Stand As One" in the third heat under the name "The Brothers" getting just 10 points and finishing with 3% of the popular vote as seventh out of 8 participants.

In 2010, Ben Saunders applied to The Voice of Holland singing competition proving to be very popular with both judges and the voting public, after singing in his audition "Use Somebody" from Kings of Leon. Ben was coached by Roel van Velzen.

In the final, he sang his number one single, his cover version rendition of "If You Don't Know Me by Now"

and duetted with Welsh singer Duffy on her song "Warwick Avenue" and won by 59% of the votes against runner-up Pearl Jozefzoon.

Saunders has charted with 4 different songs in the top 15 of the Dutch charts, including attaining #1 position with his single "Kill For a Broken Heart".

Pixie Lott performed a cover version of the song which peaked at number 41 in the UK Singles Chart, due to it being a B-side to her number 1 single "Mama Do (Uh Oh Uh Oh)".

Dutch singer Laura Jansen covered a piano ballad-version of "Use Somebody". The song debuted in the Dutch Top 40. It entered the charts on the 35th spot but quickly rose towards number 14.

Country singer Margaret Durante did a cover and released a single on October 2009.

Kelly Clarkson covered the song in a mash-up with Alanis Morissette's "That I Would Be Good" on her All I Ever Wanted Tour.

In an interview with Robbie, Marieke and the Doctor on Australian radio station Triple J, Nathan Followil explained that the band never intended the song to be named "Sex on Fire".

"They were totally different lyrics. Depending on whether a song starts with a melody or starts with lyrics, you know if it starts with a melody you just keep playing the melody over and over until you get it down and just throw in any lyrics that fit the verbal flow. It was actually going to be "Set Us on Fire", but one of the sound mixers in the studio walked in as we were playing and said, "Sex on Fire", huh?" And it just kind of became a running joke, and we stuck with it.".

BILLY IDOL - Rebel Yell

 

According to Billy Idol at a televised performance of VH1 Storytellers, the idea of a song thus entitled came to him at an event he once attended, where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones were taking swigs of a "Rebel Yell" bottle of bourbon whiskey, a brand unknown to him, the name of which he liked; Billy decided and stated that he would set off to write a "Rebel Yell" song.

The song was co-written by guitarist Steve Stevens. The instrumental introduction, which sounds like a combination of electric guitar and electronic keyboard, is performed by Stevens on guitar alone, who intended it to sound this way. Stevens states that he was inspired by acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke's style.

Nie mogę pominąć tej piosenki, gdyż jest to chyba najbardziej znana kompozycja na świecie, a w wykonaniu Christiny jest dla mnie jeszcze bardziej urokliwa i ujmująca.

NIGHTWISH - album Imaginaerum

Drugi album nagrany z Anette Olzon. Tuż przed premierą dziennikarze, którzy mieli okazję usłyszeć Imaginaerum wypowiadali się o nim pochlebnie. Rozbudziło to moją ciekawość co tym razem Tuomas wymyślił. Pomimo tego, że nie czekałam na ten album z wytęsknieniem po tym jak rozczarowała mnie wcześniejsza płyta DPP. Po przesłuchaniu mogę stwierdzić, że płyta nie zrobiła na mnie większego wrażenia. Nie można zaprzeczyć, że wszystko jest idealnie nagrane, skomponowane, ale po prostu dla mnie Tuomas jest już mało innowacyjny. Wszystko jest dla mnie takim Once 3, czymś co już słyszałam - i to wrażenie ciągle mi towarzyszy. Emppu ciągle gra takie same riffy odkąd pamiętam, Jukka też ma oklepane rytmy na perkusji. Piosenki są dobre, ale nie powalają mnie.

Dużym zaskoczeniem była dla mnie Anette, która śpiewa REWELACYJNIE i potwierdza, że nie jest wokalistką przeciętną, ale o wszechstronnych umiejętnościach. Jak przesłuchuję piosenki to Anette mnie ZACHWYCA. Jej technika śpiewu, interpretacje, emocje zasługują na pochwałę i uznanie. To właśnie dzięki niej mam jakąkolwiek ochotę przesłuchać tę płytę. Słucham z zachwytem i koncentruję się na wokalu Anette, który mnie urzeka.   

 Jedynie "ale" mam do Tuomasa, bo to on tworzył utwory, które ciągle bazują na tym co już kiedyś skomponował. Jest przewidywalny i nudny w swojej twórczości. Ciągle te same motywy muzyczne.  Płyta zapewne nie przypadła  mi do gustu dlatego, że ja nie jestem fanką muzyki filmowej. A ta płyta jest nią przesycona. Nic dziwnego, gdyż  Tuomas fascynuje się muzyka filmową, która jest dla niego dużą inspiracją w tworzeniu własnego materiału. Nie mam nic do tego rodzaju muzyki, ale ona do mnie PO PROSTU nie przemawia. A jak przystało na porządnego kompozytora czy songwrittera powinien się rozwijać i zaskakiwać, a nie ograniczać.

Niewątpliwie ta piosenka jest dla mnie miłym zaskoczeniem. Tuomas postarał się i skomponował coś przyzwoitego, nowego i nietypowego biorąc pod uwagę dorobek muzyczny NW, a Anette stworzyła niesamowita interpretację.

Większość dziewczyn w jej wieku wzdycha do Justina Biebera. Albo marzy o tym, by zostać drugą Miley Cyrus. Większość dziewczyn nie miała jednak matki chrzestnej w osobie Amy Winehouse. Nic dziwnego, że 15-letnia Dionne Bromfield woli podążać raczej muzyczną ścieżką Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, czy swojej słynnej cioci. I że przedkłada ponadczasowy soul nad słodkie popowe melodie. To właśnie Amy od początku gorliwie wspierała wielki talent młodziutkiej chrześniaczki. I to na koncercie Dionne w londyńskim Roundhouse po raz ostatni pokazała się publicznie.

Mniej więcej odkąd skończyłam dziesięć lat wszyscy wokół mówili mi, że potrafię śpiewać. Moja mama stale to powtarzała, ale ja byłam zbyt nieśmiała, żeby w to wierzyć. Im częściej ludzie o tym mówili, tym bardziej się wycofywałam. Aż pewnego razu przyszła do nas Amy i usłyszała jak śpiewam. Powiedziała – dziewczyno, to prawda. Potrafisz. I to sprawiło, że wreszcie zaczęłam czuć się bardziej pewnie. Niezwykle skromna Dionne jednak nawet swoim szkolnym kolegom nie przyznała się, że nagrała swoją pierwszą płytę. Wydana w 2009 r. „Introducing Dionne Bromfield” była uroczym zbiorem jej interpretacji soulowych klasyków, a znajomi wokalistki dowiedzieli się o niej dopiero… z telewizji!

Nie ma już teraz takich artystów jak Marvin Gaye, czy The Temptations. To właśnie ich piosenki nuciłam dorastając, podczas gdy moi rówieśnicy śpiewali Britney Spears czy The Sugababes – tłumaczy swoje muzyczne wybory Dionne.

Teraz, niezwykle już świadoma swego talentu 15-latka przygotowała w pełni autorski materiał. Płyta „Good For The Soul” ukazała się w Wielkiej Brytanii na początku lipca, a przy jej powstaniu dopomógł John Paul 'Bluey' Maunick z acid jazzowego zespołu Incognito oraz Paul O'Duffy – znany ze współpracy z Duffy. Początki jednak nie były łatwe.

Weszłam z Paulem do studia i on miał pomysł na piosenkę. Nie spodobał mi się, ale nie wiedziałam jak mu to powiedzieć. Jak ja 14-letnia dziewczyna miałam powiedzieć dorosłemu facetowi, że nie podoba mi się jego piosenka? Tak więc zaczęliśmy nad nią pracę i w jej trakcie przyszedł mi do głowy pomysł, z którego powstał utwór „The Sweetest Thing”. Zaczęłam myśleć o pewnym chłopcu ze szkoły, który bardzo podobał się mojej koleżance. Cały czas powtarzała: Chcę, żeby tylko na mnie spojrzał. Jak sobie o tym przypomniałam, wiedziałam, że to idealny pierwszy wers piosenki!

Trudno jednak uwierzyć, że ten niezwykle dojrzały głos należy do zaledwie 15-letniej dziewczyny, a dorosłe teksty zainspirowane są miłosnymi niepowodzeniami koleżanek ze szkolnej ławki!

KELLY CLARKSON - Miss Indepedent

Singel stworzony został przez Rhetta Lawrence'a, Christinę Aguilerę i Matta Morrisa oraz wyprodukowany przez Lawrence'a. Pierwotnie piosenka miała znaleźć się na płycie Christiny 'Stripped' '02, ale z niewiadomych powodów Aguilera nie umieściła jej.

Są dwie wersje tej historii. Jedna mówi o tym, że początkowo piosenka miała być wykonywana przez girlsband Destiny's Child, jednak po odmowie nagrania piosenki przez zespół, Lawrence zaoferował zaśpiewanie "Miss Independent" Christinie Aguilerze. Po zmianach dokonanaych w tekście piosenki przez samą Aguilerę, Rhett wycofał się z wcześniej wspomnianej oferty tłumacząc się typowo rockowym typem utworu. Dwa lata później Clarkson dowiedziała się, iż ma możliwość nagrania "Miss Independent" wydała piosenkę jako singel i umieściła na liście utworów albumu Thankful (2003).

Druga wersja mówi (bardziej prawdopodobna) o tym, że piosenka nie została ukończona na czas, a płyta została wydana, a  utwór został oddany Kelly bez zgody Xtiny.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has paid the ultimate compliment to AMERICAN IDOL winner KELLY CLARKSON - she loved the Texan's version of a hit song she co-wrote. Aguilera chose not to record MISS INDEPENDENT for her STRIPPED album, and Clarkson chose to make it her first single.
Aguilera admits she was annoyed when she first heard the song, because she wasn't asked permission for Clarkson to record it, but she went out of her way to meet up with the American Idol star at the GRAMMY AWARDS on Sunday - so she could tell her how much she liked her version of her song.
She says, "She was a lovely girl."
Unfortunately, Clarkson left the post-show's party before Aguilera had a chance to give her an unprompted ego-boost, so she made her feelings known when she appeared on MTV show TRL in America yesterday.
Aguilera said, "If you're watching Kelly, you're a sweetheart and if the song was to go to anyone I'm glad that it went to you because you gave it justice."

CHRISTINA AGUILERA & LINDA PERRY - Beautiful - historia kompozycji

Linda Perry napisała utwór "Beautiful" na długo przed zaprezentowaniem go komukolwiek. Piosenkę uważała za bardzo osobistą i nie była pewna, czy chce dzielić się nią z innymi. Pierwszym artystą, któremu dane zostało ją przesłuchać, stała się Pink. Perry uczestniczyła w nagrywaniu przez wokalistkę albumu M!ssundaztood (2001), a w czasie jednej z sesji przestawiła jej kompozycję. "Beautiful" spotkało się z ogromnym uznaniem Pink, która poprosiła Perry o możliwość nagrania utworu na swej najnowszej płycie. Perry jednak odmówiła, chcąc zachować go na potrzeby własnej kariery muzycznej. Po kilku miesiącach kompozytorka zaprezentowała utwór Christinie Aguilerze, wraz z którą pracowała nad jej albumem Stripped. Również Aguilera okazała się być pod wrażeniem utworu. Stwierdziła, że potrzebuje go na opracowywanym albumie i w krótkim czasie nagrała jego demo. Perry była zachwycona interpretacją wokalistki, lecz wciąż nie miała pewności co do wyrzeczenia się swojej kompozycji. Po kolejnej prośbie ze strony Aguilery, artystka uległa i została przez nią ostatecznie przekonana. Użyczyła wokalistce swojego utworu, dopiero będąc pewną, że pasuje on do niej idealnie.

"Beautiful" was a little hard because that was my comeback song. So when Christina came over to my house to start working, she asked me to play some songs to break the ice. I played "Beautiful" for her, and she comes over by the piano, and she's like, "Can you demo that for me and write the lyrics out? Because I want it." And my heart fell into my stomach. I was just inside myself going, "Wait, wait, hold on! This is my song, and there's so much meaning in this song to me." I had a long conversation with my manager about it. We both decided to hear Christina sing it. We demoed the song with her singing it, and I was like, "Wow." That rough vocal is what is out there on radio. It was that vocal that got her the song."


Ostateczna wersja  ‘Beautiful’, które możemy usłyszeć na płycie Stripped jest nagraniem demo. Christina chciała je udoskonalić ale producenci stwierdzili że niedoskonałości, załamane nuty itp tylko podkreślają przekaz piosenki: nikt nie jest idealny.

MYAH MARIE - Feet on the ground

  

Piosenka została napisana dla Britney przez Myah Marie, a wyprodukowana przez Nicka Terranova i Howie'ego Hersha. Sama Myah napisała na myspace, że skomponowała piosenkę dla Britney na płytę 'Circus' '09. Ostatecznie nie została umieszczona na płycie, a szkoda bo to naprawdę dobry kawałek. Zdecydowanie wolałabym Brit w ostrzejszym wydaniu, aniżeli w elektrycznym popie.  Nie jest pewne czy Britney zaśpiewała tę piosenkę KIEDYKOLWIEK. I choć trudno w to uwierzyć tak naprawdę w tej piosence śpiewa Myah.

Wiele osób nie odróżnia głosu Myah od Spears i przy okazji wprowadza w błąd innych słuchaczy umieszczając na youtube piosenki podpisane nazwiskiem 'Spears' -jako nowe utwoy, które w rzeczywistości należą do Myah. Tak było m.in. z piosenką 'Candy from stranger', jedną z najpopularnejszych, którą opublikowała w internecie w 2008.

Myah Marie Langston jest wokalistką i autorką piosenek ur. 24.03.1989.  Stała się znana, gdy jej pierwsze utwory muzyczne zaczęły przenikać do Internetu.  Pracowała jako producent Aaron Carter, ale z pewnością, większą popularność dała jej współpraca z Britney Spears. Myah miała możliość zaśpiewania w chórkach w piosence 'Circus' i  'Hold it against me'.

KATIE MELUA - nowa płyta

Katie należy do grona moich ulubionych wokalistek. Podoba mi się jej barwa i styl w jaki śpiewa, chociaż spotkałam się z opiniami, że jej głos drażni niektórych. Oczywiście jej muzyka była decydująca jeśli chodzi o moje uznanie dla niej.  Bardzo dobrze śpiewa na żywo i ogląda się ją równie przyjemnie jak słucha.

Tym bardziej ucieszyłam się jak dowiedziałam się, że już w 2012 ukaże się jej nowa płyta.

Wstyd mi się przyznać, ale podoba mi się piosenka 'Blow'. Nie lubię muzyki Keshy i tym bardziej elektromuzyki, ale to ma w sobie 'coś' co nawet trawię.

LADY GAGA - Bloody Mary

Jak już pisałam we wcześniejszych postach o Lady Gadze, płyta 'Born this way' rozczarowała mnie. Jednak znalazłam piosenkę z tej płyty, która mnie urzekła.

'Bloody Mary', ku mojemu zaskoczeniu przypadła mi do gustu. Utwór łączy styl muzyki dance ze stylizacją muzyki sacralnej.

Piosenka utrzymana w spokojnym tempie zaczyna się ciekawie za sprawą intra stylizowanego brzmieniem smyczków, które przechodzi w mocniejszy bit w partiach wokalnych jakby z efektem 'echa'. Ten sam magnetyzujący bit, powraca  pod konie piosenki ze świetnym 'gregoriańskim' chórem, śpiewającym 'gaga'.

Na dokładkę Gaga wyśpiewuje bardzo interesujący tekst różnymi technikami.
Najbardziej podobają mi się wokalizy. W samym utworze jest ich aż trzy. Początkowa sopranowa wokaliza stylizowana na operę, później piękna wokaliza (dam dam dady da) i na zakończenie wokaliza, która różni się od poprzednich stylem jej wykonania. Również bardzo intrygującym, a zarazem całkiem trafnym i udanym zabiegiem jest 'diabelski' krzyk, który jest miłym zaskoczeniem i dopełnieniem całości. Zwrotki śpiewane są z typową dla Gagi manierą, refren zyskał na subtelności, dzięki łagodnemu głosowi Gagi.

JESSIE J - Who You Are

Pierwsza piosenka Jessie którą polubiłam mam nadzieję, że jeszcze stworzy równie coś dobrego. 

Mam słabość do dobrego wokalu, a w tej piosence Jessie śpiewa świetnie i udowadnia, że potrafi śpiewać.

Warto obejrzeć, gdyż rzadko można podziwiać jak wokalistka śpiewa na żywo przy włączonym odtwarzaczu cd.

Piosenka z dzieciństwa. Nigdy nie darzyłam ją jakąś specjalną sympatią, ale po latach stwierdziłam, że słucha się jej równie przyjemnie jak wtedy. Nie była fanką twórczości Cher, ale ta piosenka podoba mi się. 

ELVIS PRESLEY - In the ghetto

Jedna z przyjemniejszych piosenek króla rock'n roll. Nie znam twórczości Elvisa. Usłyszałam 'In the ghetto' w polskiej wersji The Voice. Bardzo spodobało mi się wykonanie i postanowiłam usłyszeć oryginał, który jest równie ujmujący.

 

EMELI SANDE - Scottish r&b and soul artist

Sandé first became known to the public eye after she featured on rapper Chipmunk's debut single, "Diamond Rings". She appeared again on Roll Deep star, Wiley's "Never Be Your Woman", which became another top ten hit. Simon Cowell called her "his favourite songwriter at the minute". She has written for a number of artists, including Cher Lloyd, Susan Boyle, Preeya Kalidas, Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, and Tinie Tempah.

In 2010, she signed a publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing. She later announced that Virgin Records had given her a record deal. Sandé released her first solo single "Heaven" in August 2011, and her debut album, "Our Version of Events", is set to be released on 30 January 2012. She also appears as a guest artist on Professor Green's single "Read All About It".

Emeli Sandé has admitted that she changed her name because of Adele. The singer had to ditch her birth name - which is also Adele - as the Brit Award winner was gaining popularity.

Sandé told Metro: "I changed it as soon as Adele came out. I just thought, 'You've kind of taken the [name] now', so I went with my middle name. She was just getting bigger and bigger, so I thought I just really need it."

The up-and-coming star also claimed that Susan Boyle, whom she has written for in the past, should be classed as a true "rock star". Sandé said: "Can you imagine a party with Susan Boyle? She'd just do something nuts and everyone would just be shocked. That's a real rock star - very unpredictable."

Selah Sue often covers songs of Erykah Badu and The Zutons, but she does appear to assemble a whole range of her own songs. Two of her well-known songs are "Mommy" and "Black part love", both of which are carried out acoustically. She says to be influenced by artists such as Lauryn Hill, M.I.A. and Erykah  Badu.

In 2010, she played most of the biggest festivals in Belgium, including Les Nuits Botanique, Les Ardentes, Dour, Lokerse Feesten, Couleur Café and Pukkelpop. But also outside her native country in big festivals such as Lowlands (Netherlands), Les Eurockéennes de Belfort (France) and Sziget Festival (Hungary). On November 8, 2010 she played a support appearance for Prince on his Sportpaleis concert. She then went on a mostly sold out headlining show in Belgium, France and the Netherlands, presenting her forthcoming debut album.

She appears on Cee Lo Green's 2010 album The Lady Killer, duetting with him on "Please".

It is the third and final single from Christina Stürmer's debut album, Freier Fall. The song became Stürmer's second number one song in Austria. The song deals with the war in Irak between Irak and the United States.

The song "Mama (Ana Ahabak)" is translated as, "Mom (I Love you)." Ana Ahabak is Arabic for "I Love You." The song was written after the terrorist attack on the American World Trade Centers. The song is about the confusion of war.

At the start of her career, Kayah sang in choirs and recorded backing vocals for a number of bands, such as Tilt. She made her solo debut with the song Córeczko (daughter) in 1988 at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. The same year her first full-length self-titled album was issued. It was a commercial and artistical disappointment and today is not included in Kayah official discography.

She released her first self-produced solo album, Kamień, (stone) in 1995. It was a great success, consisting of melancholy pop songs, deriving from soul and jazz tradition. In the same year, she was voted the Vocalist of the Year by the Polish music industry and received a Fryderyk award in recognition of her achievements. In 1997, she received another three Fryderyks, this time for the album Zebra as well as in the categories of Singer and Composer of the Year. With Zebra she changed her style, moving in the direction of American soul/funk music. The album spanned two big hits, Na językach (on the tongues) and Supermenka. (Superwoman)

In 1999, Kayah paired with the Yugoslav composer Goran Bregović to record what would become one of the most popular Polish albums ever, entitled Kayah i Bregović. Most of the music was composed by Bregović for the band Bijelo Dugme (White Button), which he had been a part of and movie soundtracks that he had worked on. The lyrics were both translations of the original texts and inspired of. Two first singles released from the album, Śpij kochanie, śpij (Sleep darling sleep) and Prawy do lewego (Right to Left), became massive hits in Poland for many months and the record went on to sell in excess of 700 000 copies. In the same year Kayah was awarded another Fryderyk, in the category Vocalist of the Year.

In 2000, she released the album JakaJaKayah which featured pop, jazz and techno-influenced songs. She duetted with Cesária Évora for a track "Embarcacao", sung in Crioulo, from the re-release of the album, newly entitled YakaYaKayah. Her next album, Stereo typ, was issued in August 2003 and featured a major hit single, Testosteron.

2005 saw the release of her first compilation, The Best & the Rest, a 2-disc set featuring all her greatest single hits as well as less-popular tracks. It was promoted by two singles: Prócz ciebie, nic, recorded with Krzysztof Kiljański, and Jutro rano. Kayah focused then more on producing career and released a number of successful, critically acclaimed albums on her own label Kayax. In 2006 she released her first live album, MTV Unplugged. The following years saw her working on various soundtrack tunes.

Kayah returned with her first studio album in six year in 2009. Skała, musically similar to her 1995 debut album,  became a bestseller in Poland. 2010 saw the release of two collaboration albums: Kayah & Royal Quartet with Royal String Quartet, consisting of some of her previous songs in string arrangements, and Panienki z temperamentem, on which Kayah and another Polish singer Renata Przemyk presented their own interpretations of work by Kabaret Starszych Panów.
